Principal's Corner

Yolanda Saca, Principal

Dear Heredia-Arriaga Community,

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of the esteemed dual immersion school, Heredia-Arriaga. My name is Yolanda Saca, and I am deeply honored to join such a vibrant and dynamic community dedicated to bilingual education.

With 21 years of experience in education, my journey has been shaped by a profound commitment to fostering academic excellence and cultural appreciation among our students.

Beginning my career as a bilingual teacher, I quickly realized the transformative power of language immersion in shaping young minds and nurturing a deep sense of cultural identity.

Throughout my tenure in education, I have had the privilege of serving in various capacities, including as a mentor, program specialist, and administrator. One of the highlights of my career was spearheading the creation of a successful dual immersion program in a neighboring community. This endeavor not only enriched the educational landscape but also reinforced my belief in the immense benefits of bilingualism and multiculturalism.

On a personal note, my dedication to dual immersion education extends beyond the professional realm. As a parent, I have had the joy of witnessing the profound impact of dual immersion on my own children, who are enrolled in a similar program. This firsthand experience fuels my commitment to ensuring that every student in our community receives a world-class education rooted in the richness of language and culture.

Additionally, I have a passion for music and love to share it with others. Don't be surprised if you see me walking around HAS with a speaker playing music from all genres, becoming the students' personal DJ.

Creating an atmosphere of joy and inspiration is important to me, and I believe music is a powerful tool in fostering creativity and positivity.

In the spirit of partnership and community, I am eager to work alongside each of you as we embark on this exciting chapter together.

Warm regards,
Yolanda Saca
Your new HAS Principal
